APOCALYPSE , CHAPTER 8:
The seventh seal is opened. The angels with the seven trumpets.

"8:7. And the first angel sounded the trumpet: and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood: and it was cast on the earth. And the third part of the earth was burnt up: and the third part of the trees was burnt up: and all green grass was burnt up."

"Et primus tuba cecinit et facta est grando et ignis mixta in sanguine et missum est in terram et tertia pars terrae conbusta est et tertia pars arborum conbusta est et omne faenum viride conbustum est"

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

wow but you must know alot about the bible then if you are quoting it. What is Agnostic does it mean you don't know if your a christian or not or if you just havn't decided.

Agnostics consider that the claimed truth about the existence of god and other deities by all the religions, are unknown and unknowable. Which means that you can't know if god exist or not. So agnostic doesn't say it exist, and doesn't say it doesn't exist either. They just say that we can't know. :)

lol no, you are not bothering of course, I have no problems about joining a discuassion about that.
why should I feel lonely? I'm pretty fine feeling myself part of the earth/nature "living organism", I don't feel the lack of anything actually.
I like to consider everything related to the circle of life and accepting it. People live, people die, just like trees or grass, or everything else living on the universe. I'll return inside earth, that has generated me, and my body will give birth to other living creatures; plants, flowers, or insects or any other thing. So I'm perfectly relaxed about that, and knowing that there isn't a "paradise" of life eternal awaiting for me, I do my best to improve the lives of the people I care about. Even if, I must point that out, feeling yourself part of a cosmic living organism make you feel also part of the eternal life of this entity you are already part of.
And about religion, I think that almost all the religion are saying pretty the same stuffs; they embody the forces of nature into "gods" cause they know we are nothing compared to them, like in the norse mithology Thor is associated with the thunder, and so on; or even in Roman and Greek mythology the objects of worship are common activities people did, like Diana the goddess of the hunt and so on. In this meaning, I belive in all religions, since the basic messages are the same; love among eachothers, love among all the living things, respect nature, learn to forgive, etc etc..
but during history, unfortunatly, men dedided to put their own intepretations in this "ancient wisdom" , so they started different paths of faith you have to follow, like feeling inside a private club, feeling like "different" somebody who thinks a bit different from you and so on. Holy crusades, inquisitions, or bringing christianity to scandinavian regions, and so on.. when faith become a political "club" cause somebody in the past began to misanderstand the ancient teachings of wisdom, then what came after is just wrong. I think all the religions says the same original thing, teach the same messages. Then they divided cause men began to misanderstand them and intepreting them how they wanted, so every "club" gave birth their own rules of being "accepted" inside of it.
I don't feel the need to go to a church to pray and feel close to "god", I do have other ways of praying and of spiritual connection with nature. So for this, i think myself as a religious and spiritual man, but not dogmatic like christians or ortodox, or islamic, or druidic or wicca, etc etc. I believe that each faith has a portion of truth inside, (from Odinism, to Native American religions, to Christianity, to Heathenism, etc etc) but without considering them all together as ONE, we won't be able to be reach the true wisdom and illuminated mind.

yup uv thought throu alot havn't u lol. I c wat ur saying about about the differnent religions, and I understand it to a certain extent. one of my sis boyfriends believed in somewhat the same thing. But do u just believe in part of it and throw the rest out.
How can u believe in religion if you don't believe in God or A GOD so to speak.
And does that really make you happy to know that u arn't going anywhere after u die.
I meant I love the earth and animals and the system, but I just don't c how that could fulfill me in living a purposful life and to be happy with excepting it.
I want to believe that this world is good but I know that its not, even if I wasn't a christian I could c that. I'd want to know that one day I'd be saved from everything that I find horrible. Like murder, rape, racism, hatred. All of that stuff.
I know that once my body dies it will return to the earth like I was taught in school, but I want to believe that my mind and spirit will live on somewhere else and not fade into nothing. Cause while this body doesn't live forever I understand that, and I fully except that whenever god wants to take me home I'll leave. I know I wasn't trully ment for this world forever but I belive that I'll c my true home one day, and I know u might not understand this or believe it but I think that while I'm descusting and sinful I also hav a much greater purpose on this earth than living my time and then letting the next generation be supported by my body.
And ya I do c what ur saying about the different branches of religion. But the only reason I'm a christian is because i believe that in a pure man who had no fault gav me a reason to live and to feel clean in a world full of pain and sin.
I believe that he died to give me this freedom. I know that alot of religions hav specific reasons and goals and rules, but as far as i'm concerned I live to worship and serve Jesus alone. Thats my true purpose. I'm a baptist, but I could b a catholic or a pisciple or anything else as long as i'm serving Christ. Nothing else matter.

Well, to the latter-most part of your reply, ShadowGathering, I'd have to say that [in light of you being comfortable so long as you would worship Christ] with any religion you would be totally set and comfortable.
Why? Well, I'll continue in a moment, but before I do that, I must state that your perspectives and willingness to understand and consider points is something I highly respect and therefore respect you, so none of this is meant as an attack or a malicious defense. :aww:
Truly.
I am not being facetious. Just sharing some info I have read about from various sources, one of which was written by a 33rd degree freemason of great renown amongst the philosophical community.

You see, the "Christ" figure occurs in many cultures and many religions throughout man's history, even in the 'personal' consciousness as the ego. The savior Mithras of Persia, Krishna of India, Osiris, Bacchus, Prometheus, Indra, All-Father Odinn, Baldr (to an extent), Quetzalcoatl, Jupiter, Horus, Adonis, Apollo, Buddha... it goes on and on.
Each savior listed above is either literally or symbolically crucified/dies "upon a tree" or made to die and rise again 3 days later... or both. Each with a similar or identical message; self-sacrifice in order to transcend (the ego). This is not to say religion or spiritualism, rather, is a fairy tale or anything untrue, it is merely to say that there is something bigger to the stories of our human posterity here. There are a lot of amazing and inspiring explanations behind each of these figures. If you think Christianity is liberating, you would be taken aback by the beautiful messages latent in all of these past myths and how they relate to... everything, really.

I think it was Sir Francis Bacon that said, "Small amounts of knowledge lead man to atheism, larger amounts bring him to God". When you first begin to read about the functionality of the world and study theologies, it would seem that perhaps many of these concepts are invented by man for menial purposes, but when you begin to realize the nature of the world, the Universe, and why man made the myths he did, it begins to all connect. It is then that reason and rationale unite and one can begin to comprehend "God", but first a part of the ego must be made to die or be crucified in order to reach that awareness, that gnosis.
It all relates to the world and man's place in it; furthermore, "God"'s place in it. I say "God" with quotations because I'm using the term as a variable, like "x" in a mathematical equation, not because I don't believe in a higher consciousness/power, etc, but because the term has come to be very exclusive rather than inclusive these days, at least the connotation of "God" in general, so I'm trying to leave this conversation fairly open.

Speaking of unsolved variables, this brings us to another point related to the conversation previously occurring between you and St3ramone in regards to what an Agnostic is.
It is literally broken down into someone who is "without absolute knowledge or knowing", Anti-gnosis< A-gnosis< A-gnostic.

"Gnosis" being Greek for "knowledge", roughly. It refers more to a knowledge in the infinite as opposed to the finite (material/physical world only); it is boundless, transcendental knowledge derived from a "higher plane" one could say, or rather it is learned when all consciousness levels are no longer separate, but united because you can see all sides of reason (which is why ancient cults like [including Christianity] would reenact the savior's self-sacrifice journey in their initiation rites).

That being said, it doesn't mean an Agnostic person claims to be ignorant in the broad and stupid sense, or that they do not consider any possibilities (rather, the contrary) of "God" or an after life, just that they have no affiliation with a group/religion; they are eternal seekers of knowledge and are open to anything which is inspiring or makes sense to them; essentially they think and ponder about their spirituality and are not trained it through religion. That is not to say that everyone who is involved in a religion is "trained", per se, but to some degree it is hard not to be.
I think that's what St3ramone meant in his replies to you. :aww:

Just because his beliefs are separate from your's doesn't mean that they are devoid of wondrous and inspiring reason and insight, he is seeking understanding and peace on his own terms rather than being trained. To reach "God", you do not need anything physical like a building which is merely bricks and mortar, like our bodies. That is all part of the illusion, the finite of which I spoke previously.
You do not need to seek comfort in others believing in the same as you. You find that in yourself. Christianity, like all the other belief systems, holds keys to these symbols which will get you there (since it's become an amalgam of them, lol), but you must also open your mind to them, seek answers as though you know nothing, as though you are a-gnostic because if you attempt to merely look for what you want to see, you will deprive yourself of what is right in front of you and misunderstand the meaning. See, you just need the foundation to get there, the soul, the connection to the higher consciousness, the positive thought forms which every man has (as a certain savior entity tried to teach us); it comes with it's benefits and it's drawbacks. The mystery is the lifelong journey man endeavors upon to solve and relinquish in throughout his personal Epic full of revelation and beauty.:D
